Kate Nowlan, is CEO of CiC, a leading Employee Assistance Provider based in London. CiC provides 24/7 helplines and clinical support to a large number of NGOs (including Save the Children International, Oxfam, Amnesty International) and news organisations (Reuters, CBS, International Crisis Group, Al Jazeera, NPR (Washington). She has worked as a corporate psychologist and psychotherapist for the past twenty five years and was a Director of Darteurope (part of Dart US, founded to address issues around trauma for journalists worldwide) for 10 years.
She has a particular interest in supporting those who have been exposed to cumulative traumatic experiences in the course of their working lives – particularly in hostile environments. Kate has worked in Africa, Ireland, Asia, South America and the Middle East leading group trainings on resilience and traumatic stress and is a guest lecturer for the University of East London’s MSc on International Humanitarian Psychosocial Consultation.
In 2008 Kate was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She is currently President of EAEF (Employee Assistance European Forum).
